This Easter, wildlife charity Elephant Family will unite some of the world’s renowned creatives for a city-wide spectacle of art and conservation. The Big Egg Hunt will see London transformed into an open-air gallery, with over 100 decorated large-scale
eggs, exquisitely decorated by leading names in art, design, interiors, food and retail.
From 24th March to 27th April 2025, visitors will embark on an interactive trail across London’s iconic locations and landmarks, discovering the impressive 2ft sculptures nestled in historic neighbourhoods and cultural hotspots. A dedicated app will allow participants to “collect the eggs” they find, unlocking exclusive prizes along the way. At the conclusion of the exhibition, these one-of-a-kind sculptures will be auctioned to raise vital funds for Elephant Family’s conservation efforts.
This year, luxury townhouse hotel The Adria and Newby Teas have partnered to celebrate the artistry of tea and hospitality as part of The Big Egg Hunt. Their creation, The Art of Tea by Newby, transforms the classic Easter egg into an exquisite silver teapot, inspired by the Chitra Collection, home to some of the world’s rarest tea-related antiques. The design pay homage to a Fabergé silver teapot from 1893 featuring a delicate spot-hammered finished.
Expertly crafted by renowned jeweller Benjamin Hawkins London Ltd and brought to life by award-winning silversmith Oscar Saurin, the egg showcases traditional silversmithing techniques on a grand scale, blending heritage craftsmanship with contemporary artistry.
Nestled in the heart of South Kensington, The Adria is an elegant, discreet townhouse hotel. With an understated entrance, guests ring a doorbell to enter this intimate, refined residence. As part of its ongoing collaboration with Newby Teas, The Adria proudly showcases pieces from the Chitra Collection, alongside an exquisite afternoon tea experience featuring an interactive selection of Newby Teas. Hosting The Art of Tea egg at The Adria is a continuation of this shared commitment to heritage, craftsmanship and timeless hospitality.
Since 2003, the Elephant Family has enchanted the world with its extraordinary public art exhibitions, raising awareness and vital funds for Asian elephant conservation. Founded by HRH The Queen’s late brother, Mark Shand, the charity remains the only organisation jointly presided over by The King and Queen.
By participating in The Big Egg Hunt, The Adria and Newby Teas invites participants to admire the egg’s intricate beauty while supporting Elephant Family’s vital mission to protect endangered Asian elephants and their habitats.
